NAHA: Newsletter September 2026
Updated: Oct 15
Dear Friends,
Thanks to your incredible generosity, our teams have been moving massive shipments of essential resources this past month. From over 80,000 pounds of food to dozens of pallets filled with warm blankets, footwear, and children's activities. As the peak August heat begins to shift, we are already turning our focus toward early winter preparation to ensure our families stay warm, nourished, and safe before the first cold snap hits the plains.
None of this logistical groundwork or daily relief would be possible without your continued commitment. Thank you for standing alongside us, fueling our delivery trucks, and bringing hope directly to the reservations. Here is a look at what we have accomplished together this month and what lies ahead.
Preparing for GivingTuesday: A Tradition of Giving & Impact
We are already preparing for our annual GivingTuesday campaign to ensure families across Native American communities have the essential warmth, nutrition, and comfort they need. More details and specific ways to get involved will be coming out soon, but we wanted to share a preview of just how far your direct support stretches:
Holiday Meals: $18 in contributions provides a Holiday Meal for a family of 5.
As GivingTuesday draws near, your contributions will help keep this vital tradition alive for families who need it most.
Community Impact & Local Stories
Thanks to community support and key partners, we are continuing to bring direct aid, essential vouchers, and bright smiles to young families across the reservation. From essential store vouchers courtesy of Alan to joyful moments spent handing out new toys, your support reaches right into the hearts of our local communities.
August Delivery Milestones
Our drivers and field teams have been navigating long distances to ensure geographical isolation does not stand in the way of essential resources.
Over the last 30 days, your collective support delivered:
80,588 pounds of food delivered directly to Porcupine.
66 pallets of essential goods delivered via Blusource, including 26 pallets of ladies' shoes, 16 pallets of blankets, 15 pallets of athletic clothing, 8 pallets of yoga mats, and 1 pallet of duffel bags.
26 pallets of Toys for Tots items received in our warehouse, including Play-Doh, stuffed animals, Peppa Pig chalk activity sets, basketballs, soccer balls, Scholastic books, and mini board game sets ready for distribution to local children!
FAQ Corner: Your Questions Answered
Q: Can donors ship physical items like clothing or blankets directly to your warehouse?
A: While we deeply appreciate the generosity and thought behind physical donations, direct monetary contributions allow us to stretch your support significantly further. Through our unique distribution model and wholesale partner relationships, NAHA is able to leverage $1.00 worth of tangible products for every $0.01 spent. Monetary donations allow our team to procure bulk, high-need items standardizing logistics, saving on shipping costs, and maximizing the direct impact delivered directly to reservation families.

Preserving Culture
At NAHA, we believe that providing basic necessities like food, winter gear, and emergency relief goes hand in hand with protecting something equally vital: Native culture, heritage, and identity.
When families struggle with extreme geographical isolation and basic food security, daily survival can take focus away from community traditions. By delivering reliable, baseline support directly to reservation communities, we help ease that burden so elders and community leaders can focus on what matters most passing down sacred customs, oral histories, and tribal languages to the next generation.
When you support NAHA, you are doing more than filling a food pantry or providing a warm blanket, you are helping safeguard a vibrant cultural legacy for generations to come.
On the Horizon: Upcoming Community Needs
To keep our supply chains moving across thousands of miles of rugged terrain, we plan our resource needs months in advance. Here is what our communities need next:
Fall & Winter Clothing Prep. Distributing warm footwear, athletic apparel, and heavy blankets to families as autumn temperatures begin to settle in.
Winter Fuel & Heating Prep. Securing energy vouchers and firewood assistance before severe winter weather sets in across the plains.
Holiday Program. Preparing delivery trucks with festive staples to ensure remote families can share a traditional Thanksgiving feast. Just $18 feeds a family of five.
