November 2014- Some updates from the past few months we would like to share with you:
We are currently campaigning for #GivingTuesday. On December 2nd, the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving, Black Friday and Cyber Monday, everyone around the world will donate to a worthy cause of their choice. We are campaigning to raise enough money to purchase 400 propane stoves for the Native Americans who are in most need. It will cost $65,000 to purchase ALL 400 propane stoves. Even after #GivingTuesday is over we will still take donations for stoves or any other program service of your choice. The Reservations have already been hit with snow, ice and freezing temperatures. We need to make sure they stay warm this winter!
We have also been acquiring truckloads of Tempur Pedic mattresses over the past few months. These mattresses will provide a warm, safe place for a Native American to sleep at night. Many do not have a mattress to sleep on so the floor is where they lay their head at night. So you can why the mattresses are so important to them. This gives them a good night rest so they are more alert and rested for the next day, whether it be learning at school or for general purposes.It also keeps them off the cold, hard floor which will help them from getting sick with pneumonia.
We will be delivering turkeys to the Reservations for Thanksgiving as well as loads of potatoes and onions.
