2009 News Updates
September, 2009 – In July, we told you we were outgrowing our warehouse. We are happy to announce that on September 15th, we moved into our new warehouse and office facility at 12085 Quaal Rd., Black Hawk, SD 57718. This office is located approximately 9 miles from our old office in Rapid City. By moving to this location right at the interstate exit, our drivers are able to cut 2 hours off their day and when some of their days are 12 hours long, this is wonderful news.

We were also able to solve our transportation problem. In August, we purchased a new Volvo semi to replace our old tractor that was in desperate need of major costly repairs. Since we won’t have to worry about any down time for repairing the old tractor, we will be able to continue to pickup and deliver the food that is so desperately needed by the Native American families.

Winter is rapidly approaching and with this in mind, we’ve already received a request from one of the Reservations that we serve for heating assistance. If you would like to make a donation to our Propane Assistance Program to provide the gift of warmth, click here to go to our confidential and secure donation page.
Last, but certainly not least, we are collecting toys for the Native American children for Christmas. While this is not a necessity, it brings great joy to the Native American families that endure such bleak conditions daily. If your children or grandchildren have any “gently-used” toys, games, PlayStations or IPods (we mustn’t forget the teenagers) that they no longer play with, please ship the unwrapped toys to NAHA, 12085 Quaal Rd., Black Hawk, SD 57718 and we will make sure “Santa” gets to the Reservations.
Thank you for all that you do to help NAHA help the many Native American families in need!
