Come now and let’s go down the road to Pine Ridge. As you look out the driver’s side window, you can see how isolated the reservation can be. The land stretches out into a horizon that never ends and it is as unforgiving as any land can be. In the summer, temperatures rise up towards the 100-degree mark. On this particular day, it is 85 degrees as we ride across huge expanses of unpopulated territory. |
