NAHA HOME

NAHA Medical Residence

Practically every day Native American patients suffering with cancer, diabetes, heart disease or some other severe illness find a warm welcome and a roof over their head for one or more nights at the NAHA Tiospaye.

Like its other programs, NAHA is working to answer the most urgent needs of Native American families in dire straits.  The motel offers all the comforts of a home-away-from- home -- fresh linens, bathroom, dressers, and beds.

NAHA Tiospaye

It is a real blessing to those enduring chemotherapy and other medical procedures and treatments who are also unable to afford a place to spend the night or travel the long distance to and from the medical facility.  Tiospaye is free to any Native American referred by local hospital and medical facility doctors.

Anyone interested in supporting the NAHA network of Native American programs is welcome to visit our

Inside Tiospaye, medical patients have a home-away-from-home to give comfort, rest, and hope in a cheerful setting. NAHA Tiospaye Rooms

Lynette Gramling
Tiospaye Resident Manager

The front desk administrator of Tiospaye takes a call from one of the area medical facilities requesting an overnight room for one of their Native American cancer patients.  Often, such patients must travel anywhere from 50 to 200 or more miles to receive chemotherapy treatment over a three day period.

It is hard enough to find gas money or someone with a car to drive them to Rapid City. There is practically no one on the Reservation who can afford to travel back and forth three days in a row.  To make matters worse, these patients seldom have the means to stay overnight.

This employee is a member of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe. Her day begins at 7 in the morning handling administrative, managerial, and custodial duties until 7 at night.
